Nduka Obaigbena, born in 1961 in Delta State, Nigeria, is one of the most prominent figures in African media. As the founder of ThisDay newspaper and Arise News Television Network, he has significantly influenced both print and broadcast journalism, giving African stories a prominent place in global conversations.

Obaigbena was born into an illustrious Urhobo family in the Niger Delta region. His father, Chief Peter Obaigbena Sr., was a respected community leader and businessman.
