Knowledge and wisdom are not only for the educated. Knowledge cuts across all spheres of life. Education is just part of the acquired knowledge regulated to know if you know what you said you know and learn what you plan to know. Education is acquired from institutions where expression and presentation of knowledge created by different people from different places are domiciled and studied, reviewed and shared. For instance, if you study Shakespeare’s writing in literature, Shakespeare created the knowledge in the books while you are just borrowing or expanding knowledge. Shakespeare is active, while the reader or one studying it is passive. If you are studying linguistics or science, or engineering, the originators have the knowledge that you are recycling. Same as in medicine, law and social sciences. Education gives you the opportunity to study an existing knowledge and from there either create a new one or improve on the existing one. Everyone has the power to create knowledge innately and express it to the world whether through educational institution or not. Don’t be subdued in expressing your wisdom and knowledge or be intimidated by people who brandish skills in language and certificates. A professor, for instance does not know all. He/she is a specialist in a small area of knowledge. Knowledge, wisdom and education is not equal. Even if the area is the same. That is why if you bring together the best academics, you’d still have the best of the best among them. Education is good but it is not an embodiment of all knowledge. There are so many areas you can acquire knowledge, power and wisdom apart from school.

There are so many areas you can acquire knowledge, power and wisdom apart from school. Let us therefore not run down those who present their knowledge outside academic institutions. Such knowledge in science, religion, philosophy, medicine, law et cetera can be dissected to see if they improve on life and contribute to human development. We should also consider the value of every knowledge beyond the bearer. The vessel may not be as good as the content.
