Dr Matthew Chima Amadi popularly known as Mazi Gburugburu has been extolled by various stakeholders in Imo state for pioneering people-oriented programmes for the enthronement of good leadership and transformation of Imo State. His vision is to set massive developmental and economic programmes and empowerment that will transform the state and bring the desired change.
The Qoheleth sought the opinion of some distinguished citizens of Imo state on Dr. Chima Amadi. He was strongly eulogized for his sterling qualities and also encouraged him not to relend in his efforts till total victory is achieved.
Some people that endorsed him include Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, representing Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele, Hon Ikenga Ugochinyere representing Ideato, Hon Uche Ogbuagu representing Mbaitolu/Ikeduru, and Hon Matthew Nwaoguala representing Abo Mbaise/Ngor Okpala, all in the Federal House of Representatives.
Others who gave their opinions are Hon Luke Eze Onyewuenyi, the convener and National Director of Mazi Progressive Network (MPN), Hon Iheanyi Nwokeafor from Ihitte Uboma, Hon. (Arc) Finian Okere, the Director of Contact for MPN, and Bar. Emmanuel Okoro, the Legal Adviser of MPN.
Speaking about Mazi Gburugburu, Hon Ozurigbo Ugonna said; “Dr. Matthew Chima Amadi, (Mazi Gburugburu), is a huge testament to what he stands for; a true Nigerian patriot, uncommon philanthropist, an avid scholar of international repute, and a humanitarian from whose heart flows the milk of human kindness. Dr. Amadi is a man with a buoyant heart for charity and love for humanity; who has demonstrated over the years an unwavering commitment by touching lives very positively while changing the leadership narrative through robust engagement.”

Many people are taking their businesses to other places outside Imo state because of insecurity. Many people can no longer move about freely. If we have someone like Dr. Chima Amadi in leadership position, the state will be secure again. He has always fulfilled his promises.
The time has come for Imolites to give Dr. Chima Amadi the opportunity to serve his people and bring relief to the state. When Imo state was governed by Chief Sam Mbakwe, it was cited as a standard of what a state should be. But today, we have corrupt leaders here and there who do not want progress to come to the state.
Dr. Amadi’s vision is to bring transform Imo state. I encourage Imolites to give him the opportunity to do so.”
When The Qoheleth contacted Arc. Finian Okere, he has this to say about Dr. Amadi;
“There is a saying that achievers don’t expose themselves but their achievements expose them. One of such personalities who I know over a decade that reflects such quality is Dr. Chima Amadi. He is primarily someone who has craving for education. He has gotten to the peak of his academic career. There is no gain saying this fact. He ensures that everyone around him is empowered academically.
If you want to work with him, you must roll up your sleeves and be prepared to work. He is always a step ahead in every discussion. They say if you cannot be informed, you are deformed.
Dr Amadi has empowered many people in the area of education. He brought out his time and resources to ensure that people are empowered academically. Many people in Umuekwune, his home town have benefitted from his scholarship. He also funded the renovation of schools to be a better learning environment and also empowered teachers.
He has reached the length and breadth of the state and country to make known his vision. Dr Amadi is a true Nigerian. He was born in the Northern part of the country, raised in the Eastern part and educated in the Western part of the country. He is a WAZOBIA and knows everything that pertains to the country in one way or the other. Having widely travelled, he draws his wealth of experience from the places he visited. If Dr Matthew presents himself in any leadership position, the people will not regret.
He is a man of his words. He is a brave man who has won the admiration of the people in the country and outside through his business. He is not coming to reap from the state rather he is coming to give the state. Dr. Amadi is a beacon of hope for Imolites. He is a leader who puts smiles on the face of people.
The high level of insecurity that has ravaged the state will be put in check if Dr. Amadi is given the opportunity to lead. The people will once again move freely without fear of being harassed and kidnapped. The market environment will be conducive for people to buy and sell. The hospitals will be revamped and put to proper use. It is said that when a time for a man has come, nothing would cover it. That is why we adopted the slogan; Oge Eruola.
I appeal to all to come out in masse to sensitize the people to follow his leadership vision. Let us rally round our own and support him towards his leadership aspiration.”
According to Hon Iheanyi Nwokeafor; “We have tried many other old politicians but their results were the same. They have not improved the lot of the people. This time, let us try someone with a different background. We don’t just want a political leader but one whose antecedents revolve around humanitarian services. Dr. Matthew Amadi has all it takes to turn around the economy of the state. He has the strength to make things happen. He has the charisma, capacity and courage to lead the people.”
Bar Emmanuel Okoro added his own voice; “Dr. Matthew Chima Amadi is a true tribalized Nigerian with a humble beginning. The youths look up to him as a model. The man has washed his hands well and is fit to sit among kings and queens comfortably. He grew through the ranks. He is not like many other Nigerian leaders with nothing to offer. He has made his marks in the areas of political science, economics and human capital development. His coming into politics is a welcome development. He has the financial and intellectual capacity to drive this vision of leading the state.
Dr Amadi is like a signpost through which the youths are directed to the desired goals. He is a round peg in a round hole and is capable of the leadership position of the state. Therefore, Imo people should count themselves lucky to have a man like him. He is a man from clean waters that ought not to be thrown away. A clean water begets a clean system that will touch all the facets of Imo state. If such a person comes into leadership position, Nigeria will be better off. It is said that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. Let us come together to support Dr. Amadi’s ambition and vision.

The unique thing about this quintessential is that he has attracted a lot of people, young and old to himself through philanthropy and commitment to social services.
Dr. Amadi is not only a role model for the youths, but has also become a symbol of unity, progress, human and effective leadership. He has become a household name in the community, state and country within a short period.
Not too long ago, Mazi Gburugburu supported women groups in Imo State during their August meetings. He has continually promoted sports development in the community and empowered many youths in various areas. His vision is to transform Imo state through purposeful and effective political leadership. This has generated maximum support and acceptance.
Dr. Chima Amadi, an indigene of Umuekwune in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State is said to have budgeted a huge sum of N200 million for various community development interventions in the areas of infrastructural and human capacity, scholarships, sports and entertainment. Other areas of interventions are health insurance for the aged and vulnerable, financial empowerment of the widows and grants for micro and small business initiatives.
Dr. Chima Amadi has shown interest in political leadership in the Imo state. This vision has fully been endorsed by distinguished citizens, various communities and local governments in Imo state.
