The Chairman of Lagos State Council of Ndi Eze Imo, South West and Diaspora, HE Eze (Amb) Nicholas Emenike Njoku (Eze Eziokwu bu Ndu and Ohazurumee of Ejigbo LCDA, Lagos has won the Kwame Nkrumah prize for leadership excellence. This is in recognition of his exceptional contributions to Africa’s quest for sustainable development through societal transformation and support in preserving African’s inheritance, towards effective service delivery that have advanced societal excellence, capital building, humanitarian strides, philanthropy, outstanding services to his country, humanity and Africa.
Presenting the award of honour at Eze Njoku’s palace in Ejigbo, Lagos, the Head of Mission of the Council of African Youth (CAY), an independent Pan-African youth network founded by youth leaders to foster synergy amongst youth and youth organizations in the African continent and Diaspora, Ambassador Nochisco Toure said that the traditional ruler was identified as one of those who have contributed towards youth development in his country and beyond. He has also devoted his time to serve the common goal in accordance with the Pan-Africanism Ideology.
“At this point that the youth need to have exemplary leaders as role models and mentors, we have carefully selected your highly respected personality to honor you with the Pan-Africanism leadership award,” he stated
According to Toure, the Council of Africa Youth is a Non-Governmental and Non- Political Organization that cuts across 36 registered member countries of Africa Union (AU) with core objectives of encouraging cooperation, and harmonious coexistence among member states. The members exchange programs, take on objective analysis of issues that affect them, as well as encourage individuals, stakeholders and public office holders to attain the much-needed peace, development and economic stability of the African continent.
He pointed out that while some privileged people have chosen to perpetually bask in the euphoria of contentment and hedonism, Eze Njoku is one of those who have chosen a path that mitigates the adverse effect of this imbalance by leading a life of benevolence, compassion, astute dedication to effective service delivery and Spartan patriotism. “Eze Ambassador Nichola Njoku is a detribalized Nigerian, lover of students and youths, and a charismatic personality whose credible credentials of efficient service delivery, high administrative acumen, employment creation, community and human capital development, positive national advancement has set him apart and worthy of emulation.
The event was attended by the executive members of CAY from different parts of the continent, traditional rulers from Lagos, Eziokwu Bu Ndu cabinet members and renowned business men.
Receiving the prize, Eze Nicholas Njoku thanked the members of Council of African Youths for considering him for this esteemed honour. He promised to continue to promote African culture and tradition as well as assist in youth development programmes in Nigeria in particular and Africa as a whole.
He encouraged the members to continue to unite African youths towards positive goals and prepare them to take up leadership positions. The youths must take up meaningful activities towards global development especially in education, science and technology, entrepreneurship and sports. This will reduce the level of unemployment, insecurity and criminal activities in the continent.
Ambassador Troure used the opportunity to invite Eze Njoku to their forthcoming Campaign Against Drug Abuse among Students and Youths of Africa which comes up on the 30th of August, 2025 at the National Merit House in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

Eze Nicholas Njoku is a go getter and has a strong knack for profitable business areas. He is a solution provider with a winning formula at his fingertips. He could be said to be a King Midas because he is blessed with the gods that whatever he lays his hands turn to gold. This quality endeared him to many people particularly the youths of Nigeria. He inspires confidence in people and is unconditionally loyal to his friends and family and would go to any extent to support friends no matter the position or class they belong.
Eze Nicholas Njoku is a successful business man with investments in various sectors. But his most important investment is in human capital development. He led the pack of those who assisted in turning many Igbos and non-Igbos into successful people all over the world. In as much as he always encourages his people to be law abiding wherever they find themselves, he also believes that such loyalty and obedience to the law and culture of other people brings goodwill, peace and harmony. He is an eminent United Nations Ambassador of Peace.
