The Mavin Records star, fondly called the “Sabi Girl,” achieved this remarkable feat, propelled by the global success of her Grammy-nominated hit single “Rush,” which has garnered over 458 million views on YouTube alone, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). This phenomenal track also earned her a Platinum Certification in the United Kingdom, surpassing 600,000 combined sales and streams, solidifying her as a global Afrobeat sensation!
At just 22, Ayra Starr joins the elite league of Nigerian music giants like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Omah Lay, Kizz Daniel, Tekno, P-Square, Flavour, and Fireboy DML, who have also crossed the one billion YouTube views mark. Her achievement is a testament to her talent, hard work, and the unstoppable rise of Nigerian music on the global stage.
