Former President of the US, Donald Trump has vowed to appeal to his criminal conviction. He said he will appeal to the judgement which he referred to as a scam.
Trump who is seeking reelection in the forthcoming US polls said that the trial was unfair and political minded. He vowed on Friday to appeal his criminal conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records, saying that his legal team had several grounds to challenge the verdict handed down by a New York jury.
According to Trump, “It was very unfair. You saw what happened to some of the witnesses that were on our side. They were literally crucified,”
Trump claimed that he wanted to testify, as was his legal right, but that he was not permitted to.
Legal observers had suggested that it would expose the Republican candidate for the presidential election in November to outsize legal and political jeopardy if prosecutors had cross-examined him.
Trump said he was “honored” to take on the legal establishment but that “it’s very bad for my family, it’s very bad for my friends and businesses.”
